“DESTINO” is a show co-produced by Colección Isabel and Agustin Coppel, A.C. and the Museo Experimental el Eco specifically for this space.
One of the essential components of the project is a monologue that will be presented on Thursday 22 and 29 September; 6, 20 and 27 October.
DESTINO is an exhibition created by Mario García Torres where both theater strategies and television productions converge. In it, sculptures from the Colección Isabel y Agustín Coppel, a monologue by Eduardo Donjuan, a choreography, and a sound piece come together to create a museographic essay that is always active.
DESTINO is co-produced by Colección Isabel y Agustín Coppel, A.C. and the Museo Experimental El Eco specifically for this space, which, although it was established as a museum in the early 1950s, soon lost its original purpose to subsequently become a restaurant, a nightclub, the headquarters of a theater company, and a boxing gym, before being rescued and returned to its initial function. DESTINO is an exhibition that deals with liminal spaces, failure, and disappointment, and precisely recalls the moments in which El Eco ceased to be a museum.
During DESTINO, the different works are continuously activated and deactivated through a choreographed mise en scène of lights and sound. In other moments, the exhibition becomes a real stage where various acts and characters intersect.
One of the essential components of the project is a monologue that was presented on Thursdays 22nd and 29 of September; 6, 20 and 27 of October.
